In a moment reminiscent of childhood fascination, Trump’s praise of the late golfer Arnold Palmer’s genitals has sparked speculation that it may reveal insecurities about his own. This isn’t the first time Trump has made references to the size of his anatomy. During a GOP debate, he made similar comments, implying confidence in his manhood. If Palmer were alive, many believe he would be offended by Trump’s latest vulgar remarks.
Palmer’s daughter, Peg, shared in a 2018 Sporting News interview that her father, a staunch conservative and admirer of Dwight D. Eisenhower, was not impressed with Trump’s behavior. Before the 2016 election, Palmer reportedly reacted with disdain when Trump appeared on TV. “He made a sound of disgust…like he couldn’t believe the arrogance and crudeness of this man,” Peg recalled. She said her father expressed disappointment, calling Trump “not as smart as we thought.”
Though Palmer once participated in golf-related charity events at Trump-owned courses, his daughter made it clear that he distanced himself from Trump’s politics once he entered the political arena. “My dad had no patience for people who demean others publicly,” Peg noted. She emphasized Palmer’s value for integrity and discipline, qualities she felt Trump lacked.
Trump’s fixation on penis size has a long history. In 2016, he famously defended himself after Senator Marco Rubio mocked his supposedly small hands—a jab that echoed back to 1988, when Spy magazine’s Graydon Carter labeled him a “short-fingered vulgarian.”
This wasn’t the only time Trump felt compelled to address rumors about his anatomy. During his presidency, he reportedly called then-White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham to deny claims about his genital size made by Stormy Daniels, a former adult film actress who alleged an affair with Trump.
